If you find that there are discrepancies amongst dates and listings - you're probably correct. I am posting events well after the fact, but trying to put them in the right order. Remember, that with a blog, the most current posting always goes to the top of the list; the same is true for the content. As a consequence I have to remember to do last things first, if that makes any sense to you.

Along our way today we encountered this Mission Ride complete with outriders to direct the traffic flow. I believe the parade of chuck wagons was part of a fund raiser for the local school authority.

I found the park to be quite pretty despite it's proximity to the Valero Oil Refinery. Our host said the noise was very low today compared to others days. No alligators at this time of the year as it is still too cold for them to be out and about. They would need to eat and apparently they cannot properly digest food at these temperatures. We quite enjoyed the warmth and the sun. The park provided a bit of unexpected entertainment as two cows or steers had broken loose through a hole in the fence. The brown one was not in the least disturbed by our presence and before returning to the river bank she approached to check us out. She was a beautiful specimen, very clean with an outstanding coat or hide.
