t-shirt patchwork

I finally finished serging together the 265, 3" x 2"to 4" patches using a dull lime green & hot pink thread. Final size is 53" by 60". I started off with 8-10 adult sized t-shirts from the Salvation Army Thrift Shop. Why ever for you might wonder? Well that's a good question. I saw a jacket made out of similar fabric and thought it might be fun to try out the technique using the serged seams as the right side. I do like the texture and the funky wobblely shapes. Now the question is whether I will actually make a jacket or just finish the outside edges and call it a lapquilt.

Whatever it will be though will not happen for at least 2 months as we're about to embark upon the first of 2 winter vacations - first to Cancun with friends and then roughly 10 days later we're off to Texas, Alabama, etc. along the Gulf shore for 4-5 weeks. I will be posting regularly once we get on the road. And yes, our two flat coat retrievers, Leila and Gypsy, will be travelling along with us.
