Sat. Feb. 21st - travelling the Rio Grande

Yesterday we found room at the local state park to stay overnight. Today we are on our way to Weslaco/Mercedes TX via the highway along the Rio Grande. Scenery is less than spectacular as the land is flat, flat, flat. Along the way though are some pretty wildflowers.

The white flower and the berries or ??? are on the same tree. I wonder what it is.

I want to visit the great dam constructed on the Rio Grande only to find that one must cross the border to do so. This is as far as we go as going further means the very short distance and doing a U-turn would cost us all our food.
